Narmada water dispute:

मध्‍यप्रदेश, गुजरात, महाराष्‍ट्र एवं राजस्‍थान के मध्‍य नर्मदा जल विवाद को सुलझाने के लिए वी. रामास्‍वामी तथा डॉ. अंसारी की अध्‍यक्षता में 6 अक्‍टूबर, 1996 को नर्मदा जल विवाद अभिकरण का गठन किया गया। 12 दिसमब्‍र 1979 को चारों राज्‍यों के लिए सहभाजन आश्रिता पर आधारित जल वितरण किया गया, जिसमें 28 मिलियन एकड़ फुट जल क्रमश: गुजरात (9.0) , मध्‍यप्रदेश (18.75) महाराष्‍ट्र (0.25) तथा राजस्‍थान (0.50) को प्रदान किया जाता है।

To resolve the Narmada water dispute among Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, the Narmada Water Disputes Tribunal was constituted on October 6, 1996, under the chairmanship of V. Ramaswamy and Dr. Ansari. On December 12, 1979, a water distribution agreement based on sharing principles was reached among the four states, allocating 28 million acre-feet of water as follows: Gujarat (9.0), Madhya Pradesh (18.75), Maharashtra (0.25), and Rajasthan (0.50).
