कलगी- तुर्रा :- मध्य प्रदेश का कलगी-तुर्रा लोकगायन (जिसे निमाड़ क्षेत्र में 'गम्मत भी कहते हैं) एक लोकप्रिय लोक-नाट्य और गायन शैली है, जिसमें दो दल (कलगी और तुर्रा) देवी-देवताओं की स्तुति करते हुए, शास्त्रार्थ करते हुए, हास्य-व्यंग्य और सामाजिक मुद्दों पर रात भर गीत-संगीत के माध्यम से प्रतियोगिता करते हैं, जिसमें सवाल-जवाब और वाद-विवाद के साथ-साथ नर्तक-गायक अपनी प्रस्तुति देते हैं, जो निमाड़ की संस्कृति का अभिन्न अंग है.
Kalgi-Turra: Kalgi-Turra folk singing from Madhya Pradesh (also known as 'Gammat' in the Nimar region) is a popular folk theatre and singing style in which two groups (Kalgi and Turra) compete throughout the night through songs and music, praising deities, engaging in philosophical debates, and addressing humorous and satirical social issues. This involves question-and-answer sessions and debates, along with performances by dancer-singers, making it an integral part of the culture of the Nimar region.
संत-सिंगाजी भजन :- 15वीं सदी में संत सिंगाजी जी एक प्रमुख निर्गुण संत-कवि थे। उनके द्वारा प्रचलित निर्गुण पदों को आज भी भजन के रूप में गाया जाता है ये भजन आध्यात्मिक साधना से युक्त है तथा निवाड़ एवं मालवा क्षेत्र में किसी भी अवसर पर गाये जाते है इन भजनों को मृदंग और झांझ के साथ उच्च स्वर में गाया जाता है।
Sant Singaji Bhajans: Sant Singaji was a prominent Nirguna (formless God) saint-poet of the 15th century. The Nirguna devotional songs composed by him are still sung today as bhajans. These bhajans are imbued with spiritual devotion and are sung on various occasions in the Nimar and Malwa regions. They are sung in a high-pitched voice, accompanied by the mridangam (a type of drum) and cymbals.
मसाण्या :- निमाड़ में मृत्यु गीतों को मसाण्या अथवा कायाखोज गीत कहते है ये गीत आत्मा की अमरता और शरीर की नश्वरता संबंधी पारम्परिक गीत है ये गीत समूह में गाये जाते है।
Masanya: In the Nimar region, death rituals are accompanied by songs called Masanya or Kayakhoj songs. These are traditional songs about the immortality of the soul and the transience of the body. These songs are sung in groups.
नाथपंथी गायन:- Nathpanthi singing:-
निमाड़ में नाथ जोगियों में सबसे भिन्न लोक गायन की पद्धति है ये प्राय: गोरख, कबीर अथवा भरथरी गाथा का गायन करते है।
The Nath yogis of Nimar have a unique style of folk singing; they typically sing ballads of Gorakh, Kabir, or Bharthari.
गरबा-गरबी- निमाड़ क्षेत्र में बरगा स्त्रीपरक अनुष्ठानिक लोक गायन है जबकि गरबी प्राय: पुरूष प्रधान लोकगायन है।
Garba and Garbi are traditional folk singing forms in the Nimar region; Garba is a female-oriented ritualistic folk singing style, while Garbi is generally a male-dominated folk singing style.
