अजय गढ़

 Ajay Garh

चंदेल शासक परमार्दिदेव के बनाए हुए मंदिर और सरोवर यहां आज भी देखे जा सकते हैं। यह चंदेलों का प्रमुख नगर था। यह नगर अपने किलों के लिए विख्यात है।

The temples and lakes built by the Chandela ruler Parmardideva can still be seen here. This was a major Chandela city. It is renowned for its forts.

इंदौर

 Indore

 होलकरों की राजधानी था। रानी अहिल्या की प्रसिद्ध शासिका थी। होलकरों के महल दर्शनीय हैं।

 It was the capital of the Holkars. Queen Ahilya was a famous ruler. The Holkar palaces are worth seeing.

ओरछा

Orchha

राजा रुद्र प्रताप द्वारा ओरछा बसाया गया था। जुझारु देव यहां के उल्लेखनीय शासक थे। हिंदी महाकवि केशव का संबंध यहीं से था।

Orchha was founded by King Rudra Pratap. Jujharu Dev was a notable ruler here. The great Hindi poet Keshav was from this region.

दशपुर  

Dashpur

मंदसौर के निकट स्थित दशपुर प्राचीन काल का महत्वपूर्ण नगर था। गुप्त शासक कुमारगुप्त के शासनकाल का एक अभिलेख यहां से मिला है। जिसमें लाट देश (गुजरा के रेशम व्यापारियों दशपुर में आकर बसने और एक सूर्य मंदिर निर्माण का उल्लेख है।

Dashpur, located near Mandsaur, was an important city in ancient times. An inscription from the reign of the Gupta ruler Kumaragupta has been found here. It mentions silk traders from Lata Desh (Gujarat) settling in Dashpur and the construction of a Sun Temple.

नागदा

 Nagda

उज्जैन के निकट नागदा से प्रारंभिक लौह संस्कृति प्रमाण मिले हैं। तथा लोहे के अनेक उपकरण प्राप्त हुए हैं।

Evidence of early Iron Age culture has been found from Nagda near Ujjain, and many iron tools have been found.

बुरहानपुर

 Burhanpur

यह मध्यकाल का महत्वपूर्ण राजनीतिक और व्यापारिक केंद्र था तथा खानदेश की राजधानी था। बाद में मुगलों द्वारा विलय कर लिया गया सूती कपड़े का प्रमुख केंद्र है।

 It was an important political and commercial centre in the medieval period and the capital of Khandesh. Later annexed by the Mughals, it is a major centre of cotton textiles.

भरहुत

 Bharhut

सतना के निकट स्थित भरहुत शुंग कालीन स्तुप के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। आज इसके अवशेष मात्र बचे हैं। भरहुत और साँची के शिल्प कला में बहुत साम्य है। 

 Bharhut, near Satna, is famous for its Shunga-era stupa. Today, only ruins remain. The architecture of Bharhut and Sanchi bears striking similarities.

भूमरा

 Bhumara

सतना के निकट भूमरा गुप्तकालीन शिव मंदिर के लिए विख्यात है। Bhumara near Satna is famous for the Gupta period Shiva temple.

भोजपुर  

Bhojpur

यह राजा भोज द्वारा बताया गया प्राचीन नगर है। यहां का प्राचीन शिव मंदिर अभी भी बचा है। जिसका शिवलिंग भारत का सबसे ऊंचा है। यह स्थल भोपाल के निकट स्थित है।

 This is an ancient city mentioned by King Bhoj. The ancient Shiva temple here still stands, boasting the tallest Shivalinga in India. Located near Bhopal.

त्रिपुरी

Tripuri

जबलपुर के निकट स्थित है जो कलचुरी राजाओं की राजधानी था। कांग्रेस का 1939 का का ऐतिहासिक अधिवेशन यहीं हुआ था।

Located near Jabalpur, the capital of the Kalachuri kings, the historic Congress session of 1939 was held here.
