Handicrafts in Madhya Pradesh
मिट्टी शिल्प:- संस्कृति एवं सभ्यता के विकास में मृत्तिका शिल्प का विशिष्ट योगदान रहा है मानव जाति द्वारा प्राचीन काल में मिट्टी के शिल्प बनाये जा रहे है मध्य प्रदेश में धार, झाबुआ, रीवा, शहडोल, बैतूल, मण्डला क्षेत्रों में मिट्टी के खिलौने मूर्तियां आदि बनाये जाते है।
Pottery and Clay Craft: Pottery has made a significant contribution to the development of culture and civilization. Humankind has been creating clay crafts since ancient times. In Madhya Pradesh, clay toys and figurines are made in the Dhar, Jhabua, Rewa, Shahdol, Betul, and Mandla regions.
काष्ठ शिल्प:- प्राचीन काल से ही मध्यप्रदेश काष्ठ शिल्प परम्परा में समृद्ध रहा है इसमें मुख्यत: गाड़ी के पहिये, घरों के दरवाजे, मुखौटे आदि बनाए जाते है प्रदेश के मण्डला, बैतूल, होशंगाबाद, धार झाबुआ क्षेत्र में जनजातीय काष्ठ शिल्प की परम्परा है।
Wood carving: Madhya Pradesh has been rich in wood carving traditions since ancient times. These traditions primarily involve the creation of cartwheels, house doors, masks, and other items. Tribal wood carving traditions are particularly prevalent in the Mandla, Betul, Hoshangabad, Dhar, and Jhabua regions of the state.
धातु शिल्प :- मध्यप्रदेश में कई प्रकार के धातुू शिल्प बनाए जाते है प्रारम्भ में धातु का प्रयोग बर्तनों एवं आभूषणों तक सीमित था परन्तु बाद में टीकमगढ़ और बैतूल के धातु शिल्पकारों ने अपनी कलाकृति में देवी-देवताओं का सुन्दर अलंकरण किया है।
Metal Craft: Several types of metal crafts are made in Madhya Pradesh. Initially, the use of metal was limited to utensils and ornaments, but later, metal craftsmen from Tikamgarh and Betul beautifully incorporated images of gods and goddesses into their artwork.
प्रदेश के सतना जिले के उचेहरा क्षेत्र में कांसे के बटहोली नामक प्रसिद्ध पात्र बनाये जाते है तथा नरसिंहपुर जिले के चीचली में पीतल एवं तांबे से कलात्मक वस्तुएं बनाई जाती है।
In the Uchehra region of Satna district in the state, famous bronze vessels called Batholi are made, and in Chichli in Narsinghpur district, artistic items are crafted from brass and copper.
बांस शिल्प- प्रदेश में झाबुआ एवं मण्डला क्षेत्र की विभिन्न जनजातियों द्वारा बांस की कलात्मक वस्तुओं का निर्माण किया जाता है।
Bamboo craft - In the state, various tribal communities in the Jhabua and Mandla regions create artistic objects from bamboo.
कंघी कला- प्रदेश की जनजातियों में कंघिया अलंकरण एवं भित्ति चित्र प्रसिद्ध हैं। राज्य की बंजारा जनजाति द्वारा कंघी बनाने का कार्य किया जाता है इसके प्रमुख केन्द्र रतलाम, नीमच और उज्जैन है।
Comb Art - Combs and wall paintings are famous among the tribes of the state. The Banjara tribe of the state is involved in the craft of making combs, with its main centers located in Ratlam, Neemuch, and Ujjain.
प्रस्तर शिल्प- राज्य में प्रस्तर शिल्प का प्रमुख उदाहरण पत्थरों पर नक्काशी करना है मंदसौर तथा रतलाम की गुज्जर, गायरी एवं भीत जनजातियों द्वारा पत्थरों पर नक्काशी की जाती है।
Stone carving: A prime example of stone craftsmanship in the state is the carving of stones. Stone carving is practiced by the Gujjar, Gayari, and Bhil tribes of Mandsaur and Ratlam.
जबलपुर में भेड़ाघाट संगमरमर की मूर्तियों तथा ग्वालियर पौराणिक देवी-देवताओं की मूर्तियों तथा टीकमगढ़ के समीप कारी नामक स्थान बहुरंगी संगमरमर के लिए प्रसिद्ध है।
Jabalpur is famous for its Bhedaghat marble sculptures, Gwalior for its statues of mythological gods and goddesses, and Kari, near Tikamgarh, is known for its multi-colored marble.
छीपा शिल्प- हाथ के द्वारा कपड़े पर उकेरा गया शिल्प छीपा शिल्प के अन्तर्गत आता है इसमें भील जनजाति के विभिन्न प्रतीकों का अंकन किया जाता है उज्जैन का छीपा शिल्प भैरूगढ़ के नाम से प्रसिद्ध है।
Chhipa craft refers to the art of hand-printing designs on fabric. It involves the depiction of various symbols of the Bhil tribe. The Chhipa craft of Ujjain is famous by the name of Bhairugarh.
चंदेरी एवं महेश्वरी साड़ी- मध्यप्रदेश का चन्देरी क्षेत्र रेशमी तथा सूती दोनों प्रकार की साडि़यों के लिए प्रसिद्ध है राज्य में महेश्वरी साड़ी को स्थापित करने का श्रेय होल्कर वंश की महारानी अहिल्याबाई को प्राप्त है।
Chanderi and Maheshwari Sarees - The Chanderi region of Madhya Pradesh is famous for both silk and cotton sarees. The credit for establishing the Maheshwari saree in the state goes to Maharani Ahilyabai of the Holkar dynasty.
हस्तशिल्प- इसके अन्तर्गत दरी, कालीन एवं जूट शिल्प आते है हस्तशिल्प की सूती दरी एवं कालीन निर्माण की पद्धति को पंजा पद्धति कहते है इसके प्रमुख क्षेत्र जबलपुर, शहडोल तथा झाबुआ है जूट हस्त शिल्प के प्रमुख केन्द्र इन्दौर, ग्वालियर तथा भोपाल है।
Handicrafts: This category includes rugs, carpets, and jute crafts. The method of making cotton rugs and carpets by hand is called the Panja method. The main centers for this craft are Jabalpur, Shahdol, and Jhabua. The major centers for jute handicrafts are Indore, Gwalior, and Bhopal.
