Gulf of Kutch Kandla Port was built after partition as Karachi port on the west coast went to Pakistan. It is known for handling most of India's crude oil imports. It is also known as Deendayal Port. It is the largest port in India which is a tidal port and has been declared a free trade zone. It exports food grains, textiles, salt, cement, mica, manganese, leather, shells, alabaster, bone meal etc. It also imports iron goods, machinery, sulphur, petroleum, fertilizers, chemicals, cotton etc.

कच्‍छ की खाड़ी कांडला बंदरगाह विभाजन के बाद बनाया गया क्‍योंकि पश्चिमी तट पर करांची बंदरगाह पाकिस्‍तान में चला गया था। यह भारत के अधिकांश कच्‍चे तेल आयात को संभालने के लिए जाना जाता है। इसे दीनदयाल बंदरगाह के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। यह भारत का सबसे बड़ा बंदरगाह है जो ज्‍वारीय बंदरगाह है और इसे व्‍यापार मुक्‍त क्षेत्र घोषित किया गया है। अनाज, कपड़ा, नमक, सीमेंट, अभ्रक, मैंगनीज, चमड़ा, खाले, सेलखडी, हड्डी का चूरा आदि का निर्यात करता है। साथ ही, यह लोहे का सामान, मशीनें, गंधक, पेट्रोलियम, खाद, रसायन, कपास आदि का आयात करता है.
