'भूरसिंह' (बारहसिंघा)

मध्यप्रदेश (MP) का कान्हा बाघ उद्यान (Kanha Tiger Reserve) मार्च 2017 के दौरान देश का पहला बाघ उद्यान बना जिसने अपना स्वयं का शुभंकर (Mascot) जारी किया है। इस शुभंकर का नाम 'भूरसिंह' (बारहसिंघा) है। कान्हा बाघ अभ्यारण्य के प्रशासन ने 29 मार्च 2017 को एक बारहसिंघा (official Mascot) घोषित कर दिया। इस शुभंकर के साथ आए व्यंगचित्रकार ('भूरसिंह' 'Bhoorsingh') को आधिकारिक रूप से अभ्यारण्य का शुभंकर रोहन चक्रवर्ती है। उल्लेखनीय है कि रोहन चक्रवर्ती भारत के वन्यजीव और पर्यावरण कार्टूनिस्ट है। उन्हें प्रकृति के प्रति रवैया बदलने के अपने प्रयासों के लिए WWF द्वारा अंतरर्राष्ट्रीय प्रेसीडेन्ट अवार्ड 2017 प्रदान किया गया है।

Kanha Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh (MP) became the first tiger reserve in the country to launch its own mascot in March 2017.  The mascot is named 'Bhoorsingh' (a barasingha or swamp deer). The Kanha Tiger Reserve administration officially declared the barasingha as its mascot on March 29, 2017. The cartoonist who created the 'Bhoorsingh' mascot is Rohan Chakravarty, who is now the official mascot designer for the reserve. Notably, Rohan Chakravarty is an Indian wildlife and environmental cartoonist. He was awarded the WWF International President's Award in 2017 for his efforts in changing attitudes towards nature.
