शंकर लक्ष्‍मण

शंकर लक्ष्‍मण - भारतीय हॉकी टीम के गोलरक्षक के रूप में वर्ष 1956 और वर्ष 1960 के ओलम्पिक में शामिल हुए थे। ये प्रथम गोल रक्षक थे, जो टीम के कप्‍तान नियुक्‍त किये गये थे। इनके नेतृत्‍व में भारतीय हॉकी टीम ने वर्ष 1966 के एशियाई खेल का स्‍वर्ण पदक जीता था। शंकर लक्ष्‍मण को गोली उपनाम से भी जाना जाता हे।

Shankar Lakshman was the goalkeeper for the Indian hockey team at the 1956 and 1960 Olympics. He was the first goalkeeper to be appointed captain of the team. Under his leadership, the Indian hockey team won the gold medal at the 1966 Asian Games. Shankar Lakshman was also known by the nickname "Goali."
