यह टूर्नामेंट 1934 से शुरू किया गया इस ट्रॉफी का नाम भारत के पहले अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटर रणजीत सिंह के नाम पर रखा गया रणजी ट्रॉफी को महाराजा भूपिंदर सिंह पटयाला द्वारा दान की गई थी ।
This tournament was started in 1934. This trophy is named after India's first international cricketer Ranjit Singh. Ranji Trophy was donated by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Patiala.
रणजीत सिंह वह पहले भारतीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय खिलाड़ी थे जिन्होंने इंग्लैंड की ओर से ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ पहला अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मैच खेला और अपने पदार्पण मैच में ही शतक लगाया यह भारतीय खिलाड़ी इंग्लैंड की ओर से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट मेच खेलते थे रणजीत सिंह को भारतीय क्रिकेट का पिता कहा जाता है1 रणजीत सिंह को नवानगर के जामसाहब, रणजी और स्मिथ के नाम से भी जाना जाता है
Ranjit Singh was the first Indian international player to play his first international match for England against Australia and score a century on his debut. This Indian player played international cricket matches for England. Ranjit Singh is called the father of Indian cricket. Ranjit Singh is also known as Jam Saheb of Nawanagar, Ranji and Smith.
यह टूर्नामेंट नॉकआऊ प्रारूप में शुरू हुआ और तब से हर साल आयोजित किया जाता है रणजी ट्रॉफी भारत की एक प्रमुख प्रथम श्रेणी क्रिकेट चैम्पियनशिप है इसका आयोजन बीसीसीआई करता है और यह भारत के विभिन्न राज्यों की टीमों के बीच खेली जाती है ।
The tournament started in a knockout format and has been held every year since then. The Ranji Trophy is a major first-class cricket championship in India. It is organised by the BCCI and is played between teams from different states of India.
रणजी ट्रॉफी का प्रारंभ में नाम द क्रिकेट चैम्पियनशिप ऑफ इंडिया था 1935-36 में इसका नाम रणजी ट्रॉफी कर दिया गया ।
The Ranji Trophy was initially named The Cricket Championship of India. In 1935-36, its name was changed to Ranji Trophy.
इस प्रतियोगिता का प्रथम मेच 1934 में मद्रास (अब चेन्नई) और मैसूर के बीच चेपक स्ट्रेडियम में खेला गया था जिसे मद्रास ने जीता था ।
The first match of this tournament was played in 1934 between Madras (now Chennai) and Mysore at the Chepauk Stadium, which was won by Madras.
वर्तमान में रणजी ट्रॉफी में कुल 38 टीमें खेलती है जिन्हें दो समूह में बांटा जाता है एलीड डिविजन और प्लेटलीग
Currently, a total of 38 teams play in the Ranji Trophy, which are divided into two groups: the Elite Division and the Plate League.
I. एलीड डिविजन - इसमें 32 टीमें होती है जिन्हें चार समूह में बांटा जाता है प्रतयेक समूह से टॉप दो टीम क्वार्टर फाइनल में पहुंचती है। Allied Division – It consists of 32 teams divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group advance to the quarter-finals.
II. प्लेट लीग- इसमें 6 टीमें होती है यह लीग टूर्नामेंट की शुरूआत में बनाई जाती है इसका स्तर एलीड लीग से नीचे होता है इन टीमों में मुख्य रूप से भारत के राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की टीमें होती है। साथ ही दो अखिल भारतीय टीम रेलवे और सर्विसेस भी प्लेट लीग में शामिल हो सकती है। Plate League - This league consists of six teams. It is formed at the beginning of the tournament and is ranked lower than the Elite League. These teams primarily represent Indian states and union territories. Two All-India teams, Railways and Services, may also participate in the Plate League.
वर्तमान में टूर्नामेंट ग्रुप राउंड -रॉविन आधार पर खेला जाता है प्रत्येक मैच दिवस में आमतौर पर 90 ओवर फेंके जाते है मैच 5 दिवसीय होते है ।
The tournament is currently played on a group round-robin basis. 90 overs are usually bowled per match day and matches last for 5 days.
मुंबई पूर्व में बॉम्बे में सबसे ज्यादा बार यह टूर्नामेंट जीता है कुल 42 बार । 1958-59 से 1972*73 यह टीम लगातार 15 जीत दर्ज कर चुकी है। Mumbai (formerly Bombay) have won the tournament the most times, with a total of 42. From 1958-59 to 1972-73, the team recorded 15 consecutive victories.
रणजी ट्रॉफी 2023 सौराष्ट्र ने बंगाल को हराकर यह कप जीता कुल 38 टीमों ने हिस्सा लिया सर्वश्रेष्ठ खिलाड़ी का पुरस्कार अर्पित वासवदा को मिला सर्वाधिक रन मयंक अग्रवाल (कर्नाटक) ने बनाये। सर्वाधिक कवकेट जलज सक्सेना (केरल) ने लिए।

रणजी ट्रॉफी 2024 मुंबई ने विदर्भ को हराकर यह खिताब जीता इस बार ट्रॉफी का नाम आईडीएफसी फर्स्ट बैंक रणजी ट्रॉफी रखा गया था। Ranji Trophy 2024 Mumbai won the title by defeating Vidarbha. This time the trophy was named IDFC First Bank Ranji Trophy.

The umpires were Janani Narayan, Gayatri Venugopalan, and Vrindarathi.
