विश्‍व का प्रथम उपन्‍यास माना जाता है

हर्षचरितम् राजा हर्षवर्धन का जीवन-चरित्र है और कादंबरी विश्‍व का प्रथम उपन्‍यास माना जाता है कादंबरी पूर्ण होने से पहले ही बाणभट्ट का देहांत हो गया था। इसलिए उपन्‍यास पूरा करने का कार्य उनके पुत्र भूषणभट्ट के द्वारा किया गया था।

The Harshacharita is a biography of King Harshavardhana, and the Kadambari is considered the world's first novel. Banabhatta died before he could complete the Kadambari, so the task of finishing the novel was undertaken by his son, Bhushanabhatta.
