The Kshipra River, which originates from Kakri Bardi in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is a river of historical importance in the state. The famous Mahakaleshwar Temple of Ujjain is located on its banks, and the 'Simhastha Kumbh Mela' is held on the banks of the Kshipra every 12 years.
