ELIGIBILITY-
Education Qualification –A candidate is required to be at least a 12th pass from a recognized Board or University. He/She must be able to produce the required documents when asked for verification after qualifying.
Age Limits-
· 18-30 years to be eligible for the SSC Stenographer Grade C exam.
· 18-27 years to be eligible for the SSC Stenographer Grade D exam.

SSC Stenographer Nationality
Fulfilling SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria in terms of Nationality is equally important. The candidates can check out the below pointers to know if they are eligible or not.
An Indian Citizen or
A subject of Nepal/Bhutan or
A Tibetian refugee who had come over to India before 1 January 1962 with permanent intent of settling in India or
The candidate may be an Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam, etc with the intention to permanently settle in India.
HOW TO FILL EXAM FORM
· STEP1: Visit official website SSC at ssc.nic.in
· . STEP2: On website click on “Apply Online”
· . STEP3: Fill the details as required
· . STEP4: upload scanned copies of photo, signature, identity proof and other document as per the required format and size mentioned in the instruction
· .STEP5: Check details once again
· .STEP6: Pay the application fees
· .STEP7: Submit the form the note down and save the registration number/Roll number.

ABOUT EXAM-
· SSC Stenographer exam will be conducted in two tiers.
· Candidates qualifying for the written test will have to appear for the shorthand test which is qualifying in nature.
· The final merit list will be released on the performance both tiers.

· SSC Stenographer tier 1 exam consist of three section.
· Tier 1 exam will be an online computer based test (CBT).
· For every correct answer 1 marks.
· For every incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.
· Total Questions 200
· Total time duration for the 200 marks will be 2 hours.
SSC STENOGRAPHER TEIR II (Shorthand skill test)
The SSC Stenographer Skill Test is done on both computers and Paper. The candidates will be dictated a passage of 800 and 1000 wpm for Group D and C respectively, depending upon the marks obtained by the candidate.
For Stenographer Group ‘D’: 800 words @80 words per minute w.p.m.
For Stenographer Group ‘C’: 1000 words @100 words per minute w.p.m.

QUALIFYING -
The qualifying marks are different for the written test of Stenographers in Grade C and Grade D.
a. The candidates qualifying for the written test will be eligible to appear for the shorthand skill test.
b. The shorthand skill test is qualifying in nature.
c. The merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured by the candidates in the written test.
