Major irrigated areas of Madhya Pradesh - The irrigated areas of Madhya Pradesh have been classified into four parts.
1. उच्च सिंचित क्षेत्र / Highly irrigated area
2. मध्यम सिंचित क्षेत्र/ Medium irrigated area
3. अल्प सिंचित क्षेत्र / Low-irrigated areas
4. न्यूनतम सिंचित क्षेत्र/ Minimum irrigated area
वृहद सिंचित क्षेत्र - चंबल घाटी प्रदेश का सबसे सिंचित क्षेत्र है मध्यप्रदेश के उत्तरी भाग में सर्वाधिक नहरों का निर्माण किया गया जिससे लगभग 40 प्रतिशत भाग की सिंचाई होती है इस क्षेत्र के अन्तर्गत सर्वाधिक सिंचित जिले ग्वालियर तथा मुरैना है।
Extensive Irrigated Area - The Chambal Valley region is the most irrigated area of the state. The northern part of Madhya Pradesh has the highest concentration of canals, irrigating approximately 40 percent of the land. The most irrigated districts within this region are Gwalior and Morena.
मध्यम सिंचित क्षेत्र- मध्यप्रदेश के मध्य पूर्व में तथा उत्तर से लेकर दक्षिण तक का क्षेत्र मध्यम सिंचित क्षेत्र है इस क्षेत्र में नहरों तथा कुंओं व नलकूपों के माध्यम से लगभग 35 प्रतिशत भाग सिंचित होता है इस क्षेत्र के सर्वाधिक सिंचित जिले भिंड तथा बालाघाट है।
Moderately Irrigated Region: The central-eastern part of Madhya Pradesh, extending from north to south, constitutes the moderately irrigated region. Approximately 35 percent of this area is irrigated through canals, wells, and tube wells. The districts with the highest irrigation coverage in this region are Bhind and Balaghat.
अल्प सिंचित क्षेत्र - मध्यप्रदेश के पश्चिमी भाग में स्थित नर्मदा घाटी अल्प सिंचित क्षेत्र है यहां पर कुंओं एवं नलकूपों के माध्यम से लगभग 15 प्रतिशत भाग सिंचित है इस क्षेत्र में सर्वाधिक सिंचित जिले के होशंगाबाद उज्जैन तथा इंदौर है।
Low-irrigated areas - The Narmada valley, located in the western part of Madhya Pradesh, is a low-irrigated region. Approximately 15 percent of this area is irrigated through wells and tube wells. The districts with the highest irrigation coverage in this region are Hoshangabad, Ujjain, and Indore.
न्यूनतम सिंचित क्षेत्र - मध्यप्रदेश का दक्षिण-पूर्वी भाग न्यूनतम सिंचित क्षेत्र हे, इस क्षेत्र में तालाबों के माध्यम से लगभग 10 प्रतिशत भाग की सिंचाई की जाती है इस क्षेत्र में राज्य का न्यूनतम सिंचित जिला डिंडोरी है।
Minimum Irrigated Area - The southeastern part of Madhya Pradesh has the minimum irrigated area. Approximately 10 percent of this region is irrigated through ponds. Within this region, Dindori district has the lowest irrigated area in the state.
