अनुच्छेद -213 Article 213

राज्य के राज्यपाल को यह शक्ति है कि जब राज्य विधानमंडल सत्र में न हो, तब वह अध्यादेश जारी कर सकता है। यह अध्यादेश तत्काल विधायी कार्रवाई के लिए आवश्यक होता है और इसका प्रभाव विधानमंडल द्वारा पारित कानून के समान होता है, लेकिन यह अस्थायी होता है। इस अध्यादेश को विधानमंडल के दोबारा सत्र में आने के छह सप्ताह के भीतर अनुमोदित (approved) करवाना आवश्यक है, अन्यथा यह समाप्त हो जाएगा। 

 The Governor of a state has the power to promulgate an ordinance when the state legislature is not in session. An ordinance requires immediate legislative action and has the same effect as a law passed by the legislature, but is temporary. An ordinance must be approved within six weeks of the legislature's reconvening session, or it will expire.
