Bhimbetka Caves

 भीमबेटका की गुफाएँ रायसेन जिले में स्थित हैं जो आदिमानव द्वारा बनाये गये शैलचित्रों के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं। इनकी खोज डॉ. विष्णुधर वाकणकर ने वर्ष 1957-58 में की थी। इन्हें वर्ष 2003 में युनेस्को की विश्व धरोहर सूची में शामिल किया गया है।

The Bhimbetka Caves, located in Raisen district, are famous for their rock paintings created by prehistoric humans. They were discovered by Dr. Vishnudhar Wakankar in 1957-58. They were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2003.

ये गुफाएँ मध्य प्रदेश की प्राचीनतम संसकृति का प्रतिनिधित्व करती हैं। यहां से पूर्व पाषाण कालीन संस्कृति की गुफाओं का शैलाश्रय प्राप्त हुआ है। जिनकी संख्या 600 हैं इन गुफाओं की दीवारों में आदिमानव ने अपनी सृजनात्मक कलाओं की अभिव्यक्ति की है।

 These caves represent the oldest culture of Madhya Pradesh. Rock shelters from the Paleolithic culture have been discovered here. Numbering 600, these caves are the walls of which primitive humans have expressed their creative art.
