India's only major riverine port

India's only riverine major port is located in West Bengal. It is known for its twin dock system. Kolkata Dock System on the east coast and Haldia Dock Complex on the west coast. This port is located in the Bay of Bengal. It is also known as Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Port. Iron ore, leather, cotton textiles, coal, steel, copper, tea are mainly exported from this port. And wheat, raw cotton, machinery, iron, steel, fertilizers, petroleum products and automobiles are imported.
