National Waterway 6

National Waterway 6 (NW6) - It is a proposed waterway in the state of Assam and connects Lakipur to Bhanga on the Warak river. The 121 km long waterway will facilitate trade between Shilichar town and Mizoram state using two major rivers Ai River and Barak River. Bulk commodities are mainly imported and exported through this waterway from the North Eastern region to the rest of India and abroad. Imports mainly include food grains, fertilizers and petroleum products, while exports include tea, oil, cement and coal.

राष्‍ट्रीय जलमार्ग 6 (NW6) - यह असम राज्‍य का प्रस्‍तावित जलमार्ग है और वराक नदी में लकीपुर को भांगा से जोड़ता है 121 किलोमीटर लंबा जलमार्ग शिलिचर शहर से मिजोरम राज्‍य के बीच व्‍यापार में मदद करेगा इसमें प्रमुख रूप से दो नदियों आई नदी और बराक नदी का उपयोग किया गया है। इस जलमार्ग के माध्यम से मुख्य रूप से उत्तर पूर्वी क्षेत्र से शेष भारत और विदेशों में थोक वस्तुओं का आयात और निर्यात किया जाता है। आयात में मुख्य रूप से खाद्यान्न, उर्वरक और पेट्रोलियम उत्पाद शामिल हैं, जबकि निर्यात में चाय, तेल, सीमेंट और कोयला शामिल हैं।
