यह एक प्रक्षेत्र स्कूल है जहाँ किसान अपने खेतों में खुद परीक्षण करते हैं, उसे समझते हैं और सीखते हैं। इसका उद्भव एक इण्डोनेशियन वाक्य से हुआ है, जिसका अर्थ है- प्रक्षेत्र विद्यालय, इसकी पहली शुरुआत 1989 में बैंकाक में हुई थी। सीखने के लिये मुख्यतः प्रशिक्षण विधि का उपयोग किया जाता है। विषय वस्तु का चयन समस्याओं की प्राथमिकता एवं सदस्यों के मनतव्य के आधार पर किया जाता है। पूरी फसल ऋतु को ध्यान में रखते हुए विभिन्न सत्रों का संचालन होता है। इसमें मुख्यतः चयनित फसल के लिये बीज से बीज तक की तकनीकों का समाकलन होता है। फील्ड स्कूल के स्थान एवं अवधि का चयन प्रतिभागियों की सुविधानुसार किया जाता है।

This is a field school where farmers conduct experiments, understand, and learn on their own farms. The term originates from an Indonesian phrase meaning "field school," and the first such school was established in Bangkok in 1989.  The primary learning method used is participatory training. The subject matter is selected based on the priority of problems and the opinions of the participants. Various sessions are conducted throughout the entire cropping season. It mainly involves integrating techniques for the selected crop, from seed to seed. The location and duration of the field school are chosen to suit the convenience of the participants.
