1.The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has introduced a major overhaul to its online platform, 'Database on Indian Economy' (DBIE). As of now, users can access the portal through a new domain address, https://data.rbi.org.in. This change aims to streamline services and provide a hassle-free experience for users. Notably, the previously used URLs, including https://dbie.rbi.org.in and https://cimsdbie.rbi.org.in, will automatically redirect to the new address, ensuring a seamless transition.

 

2. According to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, a significant initiative is underway to establish centers dedicated to 'Bharatiya Gyan Parampara' in each of the PM Colleges of Excellence. The necessary infrastructure and resources will be put in place to support this endeavor. Furthermore, it has been announced that the PM Colleges of Excellence will commence operations in all 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh, starting from July 1.

 

3. Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State with independent charge of multiple portfolios, including Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, and Space, among others, inaugurated the "One Week One Theme" (OWOT) campaign on June 24. This initiative aims to highlight India's recent achievements and breakthroughs in various fields of science and technology, showcasing the country's progress and innovations in these areas.

 

4. In a recent auction held by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday, banks demonstrated a strong appetite for liquidity, bidding for a staggering Rs 1.6 trillion in the variable rate repo (VRR) auction. This exceeds the initial notified amount of Rs 1 trillion, indicating a significant demand for cash. The auction results also revealed that banks are borrowing at a weighted average rate of 6.62%, a sign of the prevailing tight liquidity conditions in the market.

 

5. In a notable display of financial prudence, the State Bank of India (SBI) has disbursed a substantial dividend of Rs 6,959 crore to the Indian government for the fiscal year 2023-24. This represents a significant increase from the previous year's dividend payout of Rs 11.30 per share to Rs 13.70 per share. The dividend cheque was formally handed over by SBI Chairman Dinesh Kumar Khara to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, with Financial Services Secretary Vivek Joshi in attendance. Notably, SBI reported a record-breaking consolidated net profit of Rs 67,085 crore for the year, marking a substantial rise from the previous year's figure of Rs 55,648 crore.

 

6.  On June 24, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda inaugurated the National STOP Diarrhoea Campaign 2024, a crucial initiative aimed at combating diarrheal diseases. He was accompanied by Union Ministers of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel and Jadhav Patraprao Ganpatrao. During the launch event, the dignitaries unveiled a range of information, education, and communication (IEC) materials, including a campaign logo, posters, radio spots, and audio-visual aids. Additionally, they distributed oral rehydration salts (ORS) and zinc tablets to children, highlighting the importance of timely intervention in preventing diarrheal deaths.
