उनके शासनकाल में इंदौर दरबार संगीत का महत्वपूर्ण केंद्र बन गया।इस समय अनेक शास्त्रीय गायक और वादक दरबार में आमंत्रित किए गए। During his reign, Indore became an important centre of court music. At this time many classical singers and instrumentalists were invited to the court.

सारंगपुर और अमझेरा की लड़ाई (1731 के आसपास): ये मुगलों के खिलाफ लड़ी गईं और इन्होंने मालवा पर होल्कर शासन को स्थापित करने में मदद की।

Battles of Sarangpur and Amjhera (around 1731): These were fought against the Mughals and helped establish Holkar rule over Malwa.

भोपाल की लड़ाई (1737): मल्हार राव होल्कर ने हैदराबाद के निज़ाम की सेना के खिलाफ युद्ध में भाग लिया।

Battle of Bhopal (1737): Malhar Rao Holkar participated in the battle against the forces of the Nizam of Hyderabad.

पानीपत का तीसरा युद्ध (1761): इस युद्ध में होल्कर सेना ने भाग लिया, हालाँकि सदाशिव राव की सलाह न मानने पर मल्हार राव होल्कर ने बाद में युद्ध छोड़ दिया था।

Third Battle of Panipat (1761): The Holkar army participated in this battle, although Malhar Rao Holkar later withdrew from the battle after not heeding Sadashiv Rao's advice.

माहिदपुर की लड़ाई (1817): इस लड़ाई में गफ्फूर खान पिंडारी के धोखे के कारण होल्कर सेना को अंग्रेजों से हार का सामना करना पड़ा।

Battle of Mahidpur (1817): In this battle, the Holkar army was defeated by the British due to the treachery of Ghaffur Khan Pindari.

द्वितीय आंग्ल-मराठा युद्ध (1803-1805): यशवंतराव होल्कर ने अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ युद्ध लड़ा और भरतपुर में उन्हें हराया।

Second Anglo-Maratha War (1803–1805): Yashwantrao Holkar fought against the British and defeated them at Bharatpur.

भरतपुर युद्ध 1804 इस युद्ध में होल्‍कर सेना ने अंग्रेजों को हराया। भरतपुर का युद्ध भरतपुर के महाराजा रनजीत सिंह और अंग्रेजों के बीच हुआ था। मल्‍हाराव होल्‍कर ने जलेसर , दिल्‍ली और भोपाल की लड़ाईयों में भाग लिया तथा निजाम को हराया।

 Bharatpur War of 1804: The Holkar army defeated the British in this battle. The Bharatpur War was fought between Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Bharatpur and the British. Malha Rao Holkar participated in the battles of Jalesar, Delhi, and Bhopal, defeating the Nizam.

1739 का वसई युद्ध मराठों और पुर्तगालियों के बीच हुआ एक महत्‍वपूर्ण युद्ध था जिसका नेतृत्‍व पेशावा बाजीराव के भाई चिमाजी अप्‍पा ने किया था। इस युद्ध में मराठों की जीत हुई, जिससे उन्‍हें बसई (वेसीन) और साल्‍सेट जैसे पुर्तगाली क्षेत्रों पर कब्‍जा करने में सफलता मिली, जो लगभग 200 साल के पुर्तगाली शासन के अंत का प्रतीक था।

 The Battle of Vasai in 1739 was a significant battle between the Marathas and the Portuguese, led by Chimaji Appa, brother of Peshwa Bajirao. The Marathas won the battle, allowing them to capture Portuguese territories such as Vasai (Vasein) and Salsette, marking the end of nearly 200 years of Portuguese rule.
