National Commission for Scheduled Castes

संविधान के अनुच्‍छेद 338 में इसका वर्णन मिलता है यह एक अर्ध न्‍याय निकाय है जिसके पास सिविल न्‍यायालय की शक्तियां है इस आयोग की स्‍थापना 21 जुलाई 1978 में की गई थी पहले राष्‍ट्रीय आयोग का गठन सन् 2004 में किया गया था।

It is described in Article 338 of the Constitution. It is a quasi-judicial body which has the powers of a civil court. This Commission was established on 21 July 1978. The first National Commission was constituted in 2004.

Work कार्य -

अनुसूचित जातियों के संवैधानिक और कानूनी सुरक्षा उपायों के कामकाज की निगरानी करना ।

To monitor the functioning of the constitutional and legal safeguards for the Scheduled Castes.

अध्‍यक्ष और सदस्‍य एक अध्‍यक्ष एक उपाध्‍यक्ष एवं तीन सदस्‍य होते है। इनकी नियुक्ति राष्‍ट्रपति द्वारा की जाती है।

Chairman and Members There is one Chairman, one Deputy Chairman and three members. They are appointed by the President.
