The only river in India that crosses the Tropic of Cancer twice.

उत्तर-माही का उद्गम मध्यप्रदेश के धार जिला के समीप मिन्डा ग्राम की विंध्याचल पर्वत श्रेणी से हुआ है। यह दक्षिणी अरावली में जयसमन्द झील से प्रारम्भ होती है। यह मध्य प्रदेश के धार, झाबुआ और रतलाम जिलों तथा गुजरात राजस्थान राज्य से होती हुई खंभात की खाड़ी द्वारा अरब सागर में गिरती है। इसकी दक्षिणी-पूर्वी शाखा बांसवाड़ा जिले से विपरीत दिशा में आकर मिलती है। इस पर माही बजाज सागर एवं कडाणा बाँध बनाये गए हैं। इसकी कुल लम्बाई लगभग 583 किलोमीटर है। यह भारत की एकमात्र ऐसी नदी है जो कर्क रेखा को दो बार काटती है।

The Mahi River originates in the Vindhya mountain range near the village of Minda in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. It begins at Lake Jaisamand in the southern Aravalli Range. It flows through the Dhar, Jhabua, and Ratlam districts of Madhya Pradesh, and the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan, before emptying into the Gulf of Cambay in the Arabian Sea. Its southeastern branch joins it from the opposite direction in the Banswara district. The Mahi Bajaj Sagar and Kadana dams have been built on this river. Its total length is approximately 583 kilometers. It is the only river in India that crosses the Tropic of Cancer twice.
